The Special Educational Needs Department are seeking to appoint a SEN Business Support Officer based in the Gravesend Area.
The department is an exciting and busy environment with multiple priorities where work needs to be carried out efficiently and at a fast pace. It is therefore essential that applicants thrive in a highly pressured, demanding environment and have a high level of resilience.
Successful candidates will be required to support the Special Educational Needs team to administer the statutory assessment process. They will be a key point of contact for parents, young people, other stakeholders and/ or members of the public so excellent communication skills, both written and verbal are essential.
The role will involve working with sensitive information pertaining to Children and Young People from the age of 0 to 25 years, so an understanding of data protection and information governance is advantageous. It is essential that candidates have a high level of administrative skills and are able to demonstrate their ability to effectively use Microsoft Office.
This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
