Our Library Service has a lot more to offer than just books. With reading groups, talks and exhibitions, it offers a range of activities for every age group – from Baby Bounce and Rhyme sessions to internet classes for older people.

To deliver this, we need the right people serving our customers. While relevant experience would come in handy, it isn’t essential – it’s much more important that you’re friendly, outgoing and approachable. We have a vacancy for a part-time Customer Support Assistant. If you enjoy working as part of a team, have a friendly helpful attitude to the Public and are interested in delivering services to the Community we would welcome a call from you.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.

The successful applicant will have good interpersonal skills, feel comfortable meeting the public and be able to undertake a diverse range of tasks, often simultaneously.

Working across a range of hours including 8pm finishes and weekend working, within the Ashford District.
