Are you hardworking, committed and passionate about helping young people and their families improve their outcomes? If so we need you!

Line managed and supported by motivated and experienced local managers, the role of a Youth Early Help Support Worker is to be part of a team of staff providing help and guidance to young people and their families.

Youth Work is the key part of Kent’s Early Help offer, with friendly and supportive environments which offer a wide range of sessions, activities and events to help develop and support in their lives and in their local communities, these include: music, art, sports, personal development and much more.

Your role will require you to provide an environment that is welcoming and supportive to all young people who attend sessions in our youth clubs, making sure the Centre is set up for the session's activities, solving resource problems quickly, responding flexibly to changes in the Centre’s programme, contributing to the planning, delivery and evaluating of activities and working in line with the Senior Early Help Worker (Youth).

You will need to have multiple skills, these could be art, sports, music or a range of personal development skills and be able to offer young people a variety of opportunities which can be developed to provide young people with valuable outcomes.

You will also support young people to develop life skills, gain employment or training opportunities and promote healthy living. Applicants will need to be able to work as part of a team and have an understanding of multi-agency work, as well as work using their own initiative.

This post, alongside creativity and good communication, requires flexibility, innovative thinking, and good organisation skills and also requires a positive young person centred approach. An induction programme will be provided and on-going training to support your needs.

The role will involve working youth work sessions predominantly during the evenings but includes occasional weekend working, across the district.

The Job Description for this role is generic and covers Early Help Support Workers in both Children’s Centres and Youth Hubs. Over time we intend to identify ways in which Children’s Centres and Youth Hubs can work together more closely to provide open access services.
