An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Operational Team Leader within the Canterbury and Coastal Social Care Mental Health Team.

The position will involve the Operational Management of the Social Work team within the Canterbury and Coastal Area, providing high quality social care support within a multi-agency context.

The job holder will be required to ensure delivery of robust statutory responsibilities under the Care Act, Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act.

The role will require you to work in co-production with a range of statutory and non-statutory partners and people who use our service in order to maximise access to community and well-being resources in support of person-centred recovery planning.

You will build relationships with internal and external stakeholders in order to deliver seamless pathways across Primary and Secondary Care.

You should be working at the level of capability set out in the Professional Capability Framework and the Kent Social Care Capability Framework for “Advanced Practitioner/Professional Educator/Social Work Manager”.

The position will require you to be a Registered as a Social Worker with the HCPC and with experience as an Approved Mental Health Professional, you will have a degree in Social Work, CQSW/DipSW or equivalent, a recognised Post Qualifying Qualification in Social Work and a Diploma in Management or equivalent (or working towards this). You must also possess:

• Significantly diverse post qualifying experience working in integrated Adult Mental Health Services.
• Experience of research in evidence-based practice and leading the evaluation and improvement of services to improve the experience of service users, carers and families.
• A proven ability to utilise resources effectively, and excellent management skills including experience of recruiting, mentoring and developing social workers and other staff members in line with their Professional Capability Framework.
• With excellent communication skills, you will have a thorough understanding of care planning, and a good working knowledge of HCPC and Social Work Reform Board requirements.
• A good working knowledge of all relevant Mental Health and Social Care legislation and Codes of Practice, plus a solid understanding of local and national policy and initiatives in mental health and social care services.

This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure application to the Disclosure and Barring service and registration as a qualified Social Worker with the Health and Care Professions Council.
