Social worker post with Sensory Children and Young People Team

Based in Kroner House, Ashford, Kent

Are you a social worker with experience working with children and families and interested in a great opportunity to join a specialist team?

We are looking to recruit a social worker to work with deaf, deaf/blind children, young people and their families. You will need to be an experienced Children and Families Social Worker and keen to develop your knowledge and skills of working with children with Sensory needs.

You will have a level 2 in British Sign Language or a willingness to train in this specialist area.

The team comprises of both Deaf and hearing professionals. The team are enthusiastic and experienced professionals who are committed to making a difference.

We work with children who are subject to Child in Need plans, Child Protection and Children in Care.

Your work will include statutory work and visits, Children and Family assessments and planning, implementing and reviewing care plans.

We work closely with other agencies who support children with Sensory needs, you will expected to develop partnerships with these agencies, the children and their parents/ carers.

You can expect regular supervision and a significant investment in training and career development.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.

This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure application to the Disclosure and Barring service and registration as a qualified Social Worker with the Health and Care Professions Council.
