An exciting opportunity to make a difference to cycling in Kent. You will be the driving force behind developing cycling plans in the county, and KCC’s expert point of contact for communicating with cycling forums and borough councils to progress infrastructure plans for cycling.

You must be passionate about getting more people cycling more often.  You will be expected to be an ambassador for sustainable and active travel and lead by example in travelling this way (including cycling) for work wherever possible.

You will have excellent communication and organisation skills, working with multiple partners and providing advice on a range of issues in a timely fashion. You will have a thirst for new ideas and solutions, learning from advances around the country and abroad, and encouraging colleagues to deliver first class innovative cycle design.

Ideally you would have experience of planning for cycling and an understanding of landowner negotiation and cycle track orders, however on the job training is available if required.

You will be part of a dynamic and supportive team, whose wider work ranges from Electric Vehicle policy to journey sharing to bike hubs at stations and behaviour change projects. You will benefit from working in a forward thinking and inspiring environment, where new ideas and partnership working are encouraged.

Flexible working is available.
